EMILIANA TORRINI: Jungle Drum

After exploring electro-trip-pop on her debut album and subsequently following up with a blissful folk sophomore album, Emiliana Torrini lands squarely into pop territory with equal ease on her third collection. This single, directed by Blackdogs's Price James, is perhaps the most upbeat of the bunch, propelling the tempo forward with a urgent bass guitar riff and an immediate melodic hook. Hand made jungle flora abound with a similar playfulness and hyperreality that seems signature to the Icelandic imagination. Watch the music video (qt).

SIA: Buttons

Sia seems to be a subject for self abuse. This video, in collaboration with fellow Australian Kris Moyes, is a perfect demonstration of that hog-tied, condom-over-head wearing, double-sided tape face melting mentality. But her collaborations have usually been top shelf: multiple silky down tempo wondertracks with Zero 7 and the recent killer dance floor stormer with Lauren Flax. But now that old self abuse habit seems to have kicked in with the news of collaboration with pop strumpet Christina Aguilera. Admittedly, Christina has some of the best pipes in pop music, but the oily slickness of top forty overwrought production still hampens any zeal for artistic credibility. I suppose its all a process. On that note, cliptip darlings Ladytron and Goldfrapp are also rumoured to be ensnared in Ms. Aguilera's coolness diluting web. Time will tell. Watch the music video (qt).

WHITEST BOY ALIVE: Golden Cage

Yaaay! Berlin based wunderband The Whitest Boy Alive are back with a brand new self released record entitled Rules. Now there's no single yet released and, thus no new video to report, so here is a rather simple and elegant video treatment from their first album. As usually, vocals are provided by folktastic Norwegian, Erlend Oye (he of his solo and Kings Of Convenience work), and wonderfully illustrations are courtesy of artist Geoff McFetridge. For a limited time sneak peak of the new album, click here. Watch the music video (qt).

PACIFIC: Hot Lips

The news school of electropop brilliance has emerged outside of France and is now firmly nestled in Sweden. Pacific! is one of the new vanguards of Swedish electropop and this gorgeously illustrated video directed by Stephane Manel is a shining example of music and video coming together in perfect harmony. LADYHAWKE: My Delirium

Pip Brown's alter ego Ladyhawke lifts itself off the eighties fantasy film of the same name. It's no wonder that her sound riffs off the similar era, but amped up with hip kid cred by signing label Modular (a perpetual cliptip favourite). Enjoy the accompanying Partizan music video directed by the duo known as Frater with the water-colour talents of illustrator Sarah Larnach. Watch the music video (qt).

LILY ALLEN: The Fear

Life has been a bit rough for Lily: a miscarriage, a broken-off engagement with fiance, Chemical Brother Ed Simons, and a much label delayed second album. Well things seem to be back on track for the pop enfant terrible, with this new single including the brilliant lyric, "I am a weapon of mass consumption." The spoiled brat personae is further foiled by this Nez directed video. Watch the music video (qt).

CSS: Move

Brazilians rule. CSS get their move on in their latest video directed by Keith Schofield. They apparently die in this video too, showcasing the dangers of driving while intoxicatingly hip. Watch the music video (qt).

Kylie covers Kish Mauve's excellent Two Hearts. Dawn Shadforth directs channeling her glam rock muse previously invoked for Goldfrapp. Watch the music video (qt).

THE TING TINGS: Shut Up And Let Me Go

It was as inevidible as they are unavoidable, the Ting Tings are ruling the electro pop stratosphere. And while I have been doing my best to avoid furthering their global takeover, they are as infectious as an East Hastings crackwhore. So here is that ridiculously catchy iPod tune, with a proper music video courtesy of the lens of Alex and Liane. Enjoy! Watch the music video (qt).

LYKKE LI: Breaking It Up

Swedish indie darling Lykke Li is here to break it up. This poptastic single straddles the indie pop credibility with production nods to Peter Bjorn and John's Björn Yttling and a booty shaking beat worthy of electro kid gyrations. The video is a smokey collection of Factory-esque ennui, moopy dancing and Warholing on-screen preening. From her excellent debut album, Youth Novels. Watch the music video (qt).

THE TING TINGS: Great DJ

After being catapulted into the limelight via a ubiquitous iPod commercial, the Salford based duo of The Ting Tings follow through with a brilliant summertime pop album. Aptly entitled We Started Nothing, the album mixes today's genres of the moment, electro, punk and pop for a perfect cocktail of catchy hooks and punchy lyrics. Nothing new invented here, but certainly good fun for the now. Video directed by Factory Film's Rachel Reupke. Watch the music video (qt).

GOLDFRAPP: Hapiness

After a marathon posting session, I will sign off for the next five days as I venture off to sunny California for work. It's quite doubtful I'll have the time to search and post any new videos in that time, but what better clip to leave you with than the demented Goldfrapp new single, Happiness. Directed by Dougal Wilson, we find Alison in inconspicuous supporting roles while the sunshiney concept of happiness gets suspiciously cult-like skewering. Those Goldfrapp kids- so clever! FEIST: I Feel It All

Everyone love Feist right now. Just open up your heart and let her sing and dance her way intp the warm cockles of your heart. She bounces into poptastic indie form with this happy bopper of a ditty and I just love it. It's everything you could want from a pop song, with the idiosyncratic charm that only a artist of original talent can properly assemble. Perhaps its the one too many glasses of red wine I've imbibed, but I'm a bit drunk of Leslie Feist. Watch the music video (qt).

KATE NASH: Pumpkin Soup

Ummm... So I've been missing recently. It's true. Call it a comeback. I don't want to talk to much about it. It's the cliche love-hate relationship one has with a blog. The feelings of obligation, guilt, blog burnout. So what the hell do first post on my return? Pop. Yes. Kate Nash is the pop-xerox on Lily Allen's precocious ska infected phenom. But perhaps not as cute, lippy, triple nippled nor with the Chemical Brother boyfriend, but record labels love duplicating success. And this track does indeed thump. However, it is the pick of the litter as I have nothing to say about the rest of her debut album. The video is directed by Partizan's Kinga Burza and features a Steve Urkel-inspired love interest and a bunch off surreal feline-slash-"visitors" man-sized mascots. Sure it's old. But I've been off for a spell. Happy New Year, all. Watch the music video (qt).

EMILY HAINES & THE SOFT SKELETON: Our Hell

My personal hell is nearly over. Appropriately, Ms. Emily Haines provides a melancholy soundtrack to the workworkwork I have been face that past number of weeks, offering a jagged solace to my misery. We'll it will be cresting as of the end of this week, as I board a plane to Sao Paolo for the final chapter of week Hell. Posting will, sadly, be rare again this week and hopefully will resume to normal upon my return. Thanks for tuning in. BTW, this x-rayed inverted video is directed by none other than cliptip favourite, the now London based Jaron Albertin. Watch the music video (qt).

THE GO! TEAM: Do It Alright

Cheerleader pop chants are back in fashion, and the cheeriest of the bunch are Brighton's Go! Team. Signaling a return to the indie charts with a sophomore album of cut and paste awesomeness (entitled Proof of Youth), this is actually the second single, following the Grip Like A Vice EP. The full length album with guest everyone from Bonde Do Role's Marina Ribatski, Solex, and Public Enemy's Chuck D. The video for this single is just a collagist as the production. Yes, its a Brit side stealer just for cliptip viewers. Enjoy! Watch the music video (qt - stream).

DRAGONETTE: I Get Around

Toronto / London based Dragonette have a strange pedigree. Singer Martina Sorbara, who also sang on a recent Basement Jaxx single, is the daughter of Ontario Finance Minister, Greg Sorbara. Instrumentalist Dan Kurtz is a member for the funk electronic soul jam, Raw The New Deal. They make unabashed pop music with touches of electro edge. And they kinda sass it up. Wendy Morgan helms the video showcasing their consumably playful sexy lesbo breedo pop confection. Watch the music video (qt).

ROISIN MURPHY: Overpowered

I freaking love this song. Roisin Murphy is really building a career on her terms, maintaining an eccentricity and electricity so unique and inspired that she never appears to sell out. On her second solo long player away from Moloko, she collaborates with a collection of ground breaking producers including Groove Armada and Seiji of Bugz In The Attic. This video, also brilliantly directed by Jamie Thraves @ Factory, is an amazing contrasting send-up of Roisin's post-glamourous performance persona. Watch as she traipses around London performing mundane tasks such as riding the bus home, buying after-hour chips at the local kebab shop, and collect her laundry, all while garbed in a ridiculously over the top Gareth Pugh dress. ALI LOVE: Secret Sunday Lover

As featured on the latest Chemical Brothers track, the world is ready for a little oversaturation burn on Mr. Ali Love. The London based electro funkster brings some groovy pop hooks to the table on his debut solo single, and director Ben Ib drops some serious science fiction on this hypercolour video. Drawing inspiration from classic retro futurist properties such as Logan's Run and Battlestar Galactica, this groovy little video is sure to please the geek set. Watch the music video (qt).

SCISSOR SISTERS: Kiss You Off

After the mid tempo balladeering of their last single, New York cabaret glam popsters Scissor Sisters return to dancefloor filling form with this dance track. Helmed by Ana Matronic on lead vocals and that terrifying lyrical wit only earned through years of gay culture, this video, directed by Robert Hales, takes inspiration for 60's mod fashion, beauty salon aesthetics and the band's signature camp.
