GOLDFRAPP: Hapiness

After a marathon posting session, I will sign off for the next five days as I venture off to sunny California for work. It's quite doubtful I'll have the time to search and post any new videos in that time, but what better clip to leave you with than the demented Goldfrapp new single, Happiness. Directed by Dougal Wilson, we find Alison in inconspicuous supporting roles while the sunshiney concept of happiness gets suspiciously cult-like skewering. Those Goldfrapp kids- so clever! GOLDFRAPP: A&E

Goldfrapp glide back into the limelight this February with a new record that side steps the glam-pop chart success of Supernature. Now trumpeting a mellow, folk tinged atmospheric sensibility, Alison and Gregory veer Seventh Tree into pastoral territory somewhat explored with their debut album, but equally pop-ified to Felt Mountain as Supernature was to Black Cherry. The video builds on the Goldfrapp mystique, serene in nature, with shambling mounds of vegetation choreographed in swirling, collapsing oddity. Colonel Blimp's Dougal Wilson helms the lens. BAT FOR LASHES: What's A Girl To Do?

Another hynotic single from Natasha Khan and company, also know as Bat For Lashes. Haunting and minimal are yet again the themes, shrouding Natasha's mysterious purr enveloped in harpsicord and kettle drums. The video, which already ripped across the blog-o-sphere, is a genius execution by Colonel Blimp director Dougal Wilson. Giant mascot headed BMXer's pedal, hop and twist in sync to the subtle pulsing break beats of this trip hop masterpiece. A cliptip favourite with a Donnie Darko-esque bunny headed bullet. JARVIS: Don't Let Him Waste Your Time

Ahhh, the London black cab. It's an institution to London living to which no other city really compares. New York taxis? Sure they are celebrity voice reminders to collect your valuables, but there are also the odd smells. But in this video for the former Pulp frontman, Jarvis plays the all singing black cab driver with a cautionary tale of love lessons yet apparently little in the driving lesson arena. Thankfully he has abandoned that whole skeleton faced phased that saw him dabbling in electroclash with as much ease as a suburban mother of four dabbling in skinny jeans and asymmetrical bangs.
