FEVER RAY: If I Had A Heart

If you were waiting for a new The Knife record, you will be pleased with the debut of Fever Ray. Karin Dreijer Andersson, half of the brother-sister duo, has released a solo outing under the Fever Ray guise, and stakes out off-shoot territory: slightly less electro, but equally moody and sinister. The production style is signature in darkness, but with tinges of more organic motifs and ambient construction. The video is directed by long time collaborate and fellow Swede, Andreas Nilsson. PACIFIC: Hot Lips

The news school of electropop brilliance has emerged outside of France and is now firmly nestled in Sweden. Pacific! is one of the new vanguards of Swedish electropop and this gorgeously illustrated video directed by Stephane Manel is a shining example of music and video coming together in perfect harmony. THE KNIFE: Na Na Na

It is entirely unclear whether this is an official The Knife video or not, as it is a rather non-single track and lacks some of the grotesque imagery so familiar to official The Knife videos. That being said, it is not usual suspect director Andreas Nilsson, who's twisted vision was last seen here on Moby's Alice video. It's a quick little ambient track in neutral tones, like a little shot of Swedish weirdness. Directed by David Vegezzi. Watch the music video (qt).

THE SOUNDS: Tony The Beat

Sneaky peak of the new video from Sweden's new waver rockers The Sounds. Having recently featured on the Snakes On A Plane novelty act Cobra Starship, lead singer Maja Ivarsson struts her blondie-esque swagger into the hipster dens of East and West Coast America. Having featured New York's sullen party style mavens The Misshapes, this time video director Ace Norton enlists celebrity deejay / label head Steve Aoki AKA DJ Kid Millionaire for a guest spot on this rather catchy electro bopper. There's apparently a less safe for consumption version of this video with loads of lovely nudity, but I have not yet found it. Enjoy the refreshing douchiness of youth gone wild in a sadly non-podcast friendly format. Watch the music video (win).

THE KNIFE: Marble House (version 2)

Is this an official The Knife video? According to Pitchfork it is. But it aint at all like the video I've posted here for the very same track. Can Pitchfork be wrong? I mean, this video features cutesy weasel/rats in domestic situations like reading bedtime stories, having tea and writing letters. Certainly not the customary freak show juxtaposition of jumble images and concepts that The Knife are notorious for. Either way, I like single. Although this version of the video is a little too Anne Geddes for me. Just saying. Watch the music video (qt - stream).
