BEYONCÉ: Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

As far as pop music goes, this single from Beyoncé slew the back half of 2008. A guaranteed panty flinging at every party I deejayed, and will undoubtedly continue to plow through the early 09. One of a duo of Sasha Fierce videos directed by Jake Nava, this is the one that features that glimmering robo-power glove. If I'm not mistaken, the mind blowing choreography is courtesy of gender bender performer Jonte (and in my opinion, the REAL Sasha Fierce...) UPDATE: Apparently I am mistaken. Choreography is by JaQuel Knight. However, I wasn't all wrong. JaQuel is apparently one of the female back-up dancers in the video... in gender bending drag. Watch the music video (qt).

Time for a golden oldie. Truthfully, I wanted to post this video ages ago, but these days, it is getting increasingly harder to find hi-quality music videos to give you. Streaming videos truly blow (record labels pay heed!) and watching YouTube is immediate but is the same as watching scrambled porn- all the money shots are pixelated to shit. Admittedly, I enjoy both this this electro house stomper and its glorious soft core porn music video. Featuring firecracker vocalist, Luciana, and a synth line that stabs at my jiggy bones, it blew the eurotrash bronzed sets of Miami back to hurricane season. TRACEY THORN: It's All True

It's been a very long time since we've heard from the Everything But The Girl duo of Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt. While Tracey's been guesting for the likes of Massive Attack and Tiefschwarz, Ben's been keeping busy with his Lazy Dog DJ gigs. Finally some original work is released and it is from Tracey's forthcoming solo album. Directed by Si and Ad, the video combines choreography with monochromatic cookie cutter office drones. Tracey appears in the video but buried within all the sameness like a where is Waldo puzzle, which apparently is to her low-profile loving liking. Watch the music video (qt).

MADONNA: Sorry

*COACHELLA* Madonna issues an apology statement for the following: 1) trying to bring back the queen-of-the-desert-camel-toe leotard as casual wear, 2) scalping Farrah Fawcett and fashioning herself a feathered blonde meat hat 3) threating to white lady krump during her new tour, 4) crashing typically indie- and emerging-band centric Coachella morphing it into a slithering glittering pop spectacle, and consequently tipping the balance of patchouli honky dredlockers, slouch pantsed skate kids and vintage full lengh corduroy pants a-baking-in-the-sun hipsters balance towards the rimless euro-sunglass sporting, ckone spritzed androgynous club kids set.
