RÓISÍN MURPHY: Sow Into You

Could the Moloko singer's solo eccentric and avant chic project be turning her in Björk-esque left of pop icon? Let's tally the score: both have distinctive vocal styles, both collaborate with cutting edge producers to manifest their unique artistic vision, both have gone solo after fronting ground breaking left of centre bands, both ooze style like bonefide fashion plates and both have strange accents in their names. VETO: You Are A Knife

Great Danes! Not just a killer no wave howler single from the Danish 5 piece, but a stunner of a video to boot. How would I describe the track? TOM VEK: C-C (You Set The Fire In Me)

Tom Vek is a one man London based singer songwriter indie star with electronic leanings and rocker attitude. His debut "We Have Sound" balances dusty beats and bluesy basslines to keep the hipster kids in check. The new Beck? Maybe not, but equally genre defying. Watch the video (real).

Jake Scott directs the voyeuristic video from the Bath duo. Although this is an old video from their debut album, clearly I am having waiting issues as the Supernature record is tied up in North American release limbo until next year. Electroclash, despite the shiny plastic metrocard to Williamsburg, has a foothold in Detroit. A town, best know musically as the soulful home of Motown Records, has a inhuman electro sound pummelling from two member band and Ersatz Records label founders, Adult. DEPECHE MODE: Precious

New single from the iconic English synth band. Older, more mature and now beyond the troubled drug years, the single reflects a somber tone, less angular in shape and smoother in structure and pop appeal. Sort of like the latest from fellow iconic English synth bands, New Order. The new Ben Hillier produced Depeche Mode album, Playing With Angels is out today (October 18th). Watch the video (qt).

BJÖRK: Cocoon

This is perhaps one of my favourite Björk tracks- a soothing delicate tapestry of warm electronic sounds flickering with insectlike percussion. The Japanese visual artist Eiko Ishioka, best know for her visual work on Tarsem Singh's feature debut The Cell and costume design for Bram Stoker's Dracula, directs this piecee, her first music video. This is one hot new band from London that's been getting some good vibes on the blogosphere. It is groovy punk pop that shits indie goodness. And while the video is rather garage, poorly and unflatteringly lit, the gooey chewiness is well worth it. With some proper polish, we may find that there is more than one Party on this Bloc. RÖYKSOPP: What Else Is There?

While I liked but didn't love their last single, nor it's accompanying video, this video turns it around. The third single from their sophomore record, The Understanding, is a melancholic and eccentric vocal performance with singer Karin Dreijer Andersson from Swedish electro act The Knife. The accompanying haunting video restores my faith in all things electronic and Norwegian. Röyksopp typically presents absurdly brilliant music videos and this one bring them back to form. RINÔÇÉRÔSE: Bitch

The French house pachyderm is back with a spastic eighties glam rock howler. Equal parts dance floor igniter and cheese filled hair metal exciter (a la The Darkness), dog lovers will thoroughly enjoy this preeny poodle haired fabu-man prance and dance while applying the shampoo, rinse and repeat on a kennel full of cute little pups of bitches. BLACK DICE: Smiling Off

It is okay to admit you have no freaking clue what the hell is going on in this video. Sure, Black Dice may be on one of the hottest indie labels out there (DFA), but does that mean instant stardom? Does that mean they are limitlessly talented and bold visionnairies in a world of monotonous, unoriginal, mainstream bilge? In this case, I'd say yes. Geniusly experimental. Less lyrical or punk than Brooklyn's the Liars, but similarly jarring. This video, however, gives will cause you more seizures than Mary Hart's voice or Pokemon cartoons. Watch the video (qt).

While there is a brand new, leaked single (Juice Box) from the New York band, The Strokes have yet to release the accompanying video. So here's an oldie. Based on the 80's sci-fi video game movie, Tron, the hipsters get all black lit and neon. Now if only singer Julian Casablancas would stop hiding his face behind that microphone... AMON TOBIN: Proper Hoodidge

Director Corine Stübi provides a stunning and stark vision of Amon Tobin's drum 'n' bass machinations. The Montreal based electronica maestro has a knack for moody, chunky dark beats that are so finely crafted, assembled and orchestrated, record after record, there is always some unexpected twist to tickle and pound your eardrums. THE MORNING AFTER GIRLS: Hi Skies

I'm really quite pathetic, as this video was sitting in my inbox for quite a while and I failed to post it. This raunchy punk rock stomper from the Melbourne band has recently played CMJ and has shared the stage with cliptip favourite Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. They are angular, raw and the lead singer is one androgynous psychedelic rock chick. In other words, I'm begining to really like them. Watch the video (qt).

PIZAZZ: Pizazz (Gonna Give It To Ya!)

I don't even know where to begin... This little niblet of electro pop, ultra camp, nightmare inducing effluent is... actually kinda... really good. It's so gay that it goes beyond gay into a bizarro world inhabited by neon coloured gerbils and latex hot pants. The doe-eyed singer looks as though he was offered cheese-lined, organ-grinder stardom in exchange for multiple rounds of forceful sodomy. With songs titled "Ass To Mouth", "Enna-Me, Enna-U" and "Peg Me With Ur Luv" I really don't think I'm jumping to conclusions.The video has flavour of the week written all over it, but... it's like watching a train derailing into a field of sleeping cows. AIR: Alpha Beta Gaga

Why do the French make such good retro futuristic music? Pop structured, culling classic Moogs and in this case, whistling and banjos. What should be a disaster becomes sublime. And look at how sexy these people are in this video? Artfully spatter with dirt, bare legged beuaties and rugged cowboy types. It's hard to believe but them macho outlaws are the two usually meek looking members of Air. Watch the video (qt).

SCHNEIDER TM: Frogtoise

Doodly mutant amphibian lizard cartoons infest this electropop gem from Berliner. I've always enjoyed ScheiderTM's brand of leftist electronica mixed with indie folk vocals and sensibilities. This is one the strand out tracks from his second album, an album mixing pops structures to his synthetic experimentations entitled Zoomer. Watch the video (qt).

LIVING THINGS: Bom Bom Bom

From glam electro to glam rock, we switch gears to Living Things, a St. Louis trio of rock 'n' roll brothers named Berlin. This video, a hypercolour psychedelic pastiche of carnival imagery and narcotic pantones, is apparently directed by lead singer and androgynously named songwriter Lillian Berlin's girlfriend. Talk about keeping it in the family. UPDATE: Lillian Berlin's girlfriend is director Floria Sigismondi, a perpetual cliptip favourite. How could I be so blind? Thanks to Marc for the tip! GOLDFRAPP: No. 1

Sultry new single from the Bath duo we know and love as Goldfrapp. The constant evolution of the band, from pastoral trip hop romantics on their debut, to their burlesque electro sophomoric vamp, to the euro-pop glam sensation now presenting on their third long player Supernature, Goldfrapp are maturing (or according to DFA's James Murphy, losing their edge) in their songwriting structures but remaining vital and challenging in their visual presentation. Perhaps it's Allison Goldfrapp's conceptual art background where she once infamously yodelled on display while milking a cow. Poodle head transplant anyone? Watch the video (win).

EDITORS: Bullets

While I rave to friends about how Editors is this year's Interpol, this little video creeped by without my noticing. The hype is that Editors will do for Birmingham what Franz Ferdinand did for Glasgow. And if they had played CMJ, I'm sure they would have been hyped as the next Arcade Fire. And while I am essentially inviting critics to say cliptip has gone insane for Editors, we should remember one thing. I am chanelling the spirit of of a 14 year old teenage blog writing fan girl at this very moment possessed by this infectious record that just gets better and better listen after listen. BASEMENT JAXX: Do Your Thing

Originally appearing on their second long player, Rooty, this swinging single is formally now released accompanied by this funky clip as part of the Basement Jaxx singles collection. Okay, this video concept has redeemed my faith in music videodom. Lyrics on t-shirts expertly spliced in sequence with the music? Simple, memorable and delightfully clever. Plus extra horny horns on the audio. Bravo, director Kim Gehrig, bravo. Watch the video (real).

M.I.A.: Galang 05

Oh the horror. Oh the dreaded horror. This week has not been a great week for me. Recent video concepts are really boring me with trotted out "band playing in a cool looking studio" story boards that, frankly, have dampened my motivation to keep pace. But this is the latest offense. Let me preface this by saying I love M.I.A. I don't care if people think she is a faux Tamil Sri Lankan really a privaleged London art-schooled marketing confection. I can look past the fact that her live shows are DAT playbacks. That's because the music is fresh, innovative and, in my opinion, rather good. But to go as far as ca$hing in on a Honda TV commercial? BLOC PARTY: Two More Years

The first new single from the London band since their Silent Alarm debut. The track is catchy and very radio friendly ensure their mainstream evolution into safer Coldplay territory. Hey, and I love Coldplay. But the experimental genre clashing sound that set Bloc Party apart from the deluge of post punk disco bands is less pronounced. The net- it's good, but relatively safe.
