HOT CHIP: Wrestlers

Weird pop has a home here. Hot Chip, usually keeps the pulses racing with danceable indie pleasing electro, but today they move at a mid tempo pace with this weird pop single. The video, directed by Rollo Jackson, ups the game with a cameo by half of DFA slash LCD Soundsystem mastermind, Mr. James Murphy. Is it me? I don't find this track an obvious single. HOT CHIP: Ready For The Floor

From the forthcoming third long player entitled Made In The Dark (February, folks), Hot Chip are at it again. More blippy pop electro rock with more hypercolour eye popping videos that look like they were wardrobed in the dark. The androgynous sounding lead vocalist with the equally androgynous name, Alexis Taylor, takes on the identity of The Joker, perhaps deliberately orchestrated to cash in on the eminent release of the comic book fanboy cinemagasm, The Dark Knight. Either way, the tune is pleasing enough, with all the signature Hot Chip-isms that will keep hipster brats bittorrenting 'till the RIAA comes a knockin'. Directed by Partizan's Nima Nourizadeh, although probably art directed by a criminal mastermind genius. Watch the music video (qt).

HOT CHIP: Over And Over

MK of Not Your Usual Bollocks tips me on this great new clip from the UK electro pop rawk pranksters, Hot Chip. The South East London band play a hybrid mutation of hip hop funked electro mashed soul rock steeped in an intoxicating marinade of humour. This clip takes the concept of the band and brings it to the screen. Watch the video (qt).
