THE RAPTURE: Pieces Of The People We Love

Okay. phew! I'm finally settled in my new pad in Montreal. And while I have neglected this site for roughly a month, and have suffered a terrible drop in traffic, I am back to fight for the shit we love. Considering I have a shitload of videos backlogged to get up, I better get cracking! The first out of hte block is The Rapture's gorgeous video for Pieces Of The People We Love. Shot in stunning black in white with a nugde-nudge-wink-wink to the jazz crooner days of Frank, Sammy, Dean and the rest of the rat pack. Sure it's loaded with sharp suits, skinny ties, cigars and scotch, but does make it less cool when Luke Jenner slinks out in a silver sequinned cat suit or when the hipsters line up in anoraks and hoodies? Directed by Ben Dickinson and Jon Watts @ Waverly Films. Watch the music video (qt).

THE RAPTURE: Get Myself Into It

Brand spanking new The Rapture from the much much much anticipated follow-up to Echoes. The new album is called Pieces Of The People We Love and it's due September 12 in the USA. This single gets official September the 4th and I would expect a series of killer ripper remixes to compliment it's dancefloor domination. Highly infection sax and drum with the familiar howl of Luke Jenner, the video goes on to fully revive the roller skating phenomenon, flared white pant suits and all. It's really quite a simple concept, but absolute joy to watch with a fun little roller battle between The Rapture bassist Matt Safer and roller dude. This may be one of the strongest videos I've seen in quite a while. Directed by Ben Dickinson. Watch the music video (qt).
