I've finally scoured the latest hyperkinetic video from Missy Elliott. The question is is this produced by Timbaland or the Neptunes? If someone can confirm, as I've read different sotries from different sources. Trot out the cliche press releases, but The Cookbook is rumoured to be her finest work to date. Directed by Dave Meyers. GENTLEMAN REG: The Boyfriend Song

More from the impending closure of Three Gut Records... This video is from folk rocker Gentleman Reg, who is among the original three acts signed to the indie label. This is the first Reg video we've come across and was kindly leaked on the web by graphic artist and former Reg room-mate Five Seventeen. Directed by Broken Social Scenester, Kevin Drew, this clip captures that tawdry, amateur porn aesthetic using night vision cameras made oh-so-popular by today's modern celebutantes. RADIO 4: Absolute Affirmation

This is what it looks like, when budgets get cut. Critically slammed and poor sales, the third album from New York's Radio 4 still managed to scrap together enough cash to pull off this clip for the second single. It's a great track, but the video is kinda weak. Watch the video (real).

SWAYZAK: Keep It Coming

Dance floor filler. And fabulously at that. Swayzak are the electro house darlings are based in London but sound German with their minimal, angular and relentlessly chic arrangements. The louder the better. Watch the video (qt).

MU: Paris Hilton

Have a rather nasty split from Tigersushi, New York based Japanese electro stylist Mu lands her latest release with Trevor Jackson's Output imprint. This video takes it's name from the hotel heiress and pays tribute to her now legendary night vision home videos. Watch the video (qt).

STARS: Reunion

The saddest high school reunion- where are all the people? Where is the Class of '90? Another subtle, yet infection pop confectionary from Toronto's Stars. Directed by George Vale and Stars member Torquil Campbell. Watch the video (qt).

COLDPLAY: God Put A Smile On Your Face

As much vitriol as the haters love to spit at the lads of Coldplay, I am afraid I must join the fray. It's not the music, the criticisms of lack of originality, the Hollywood starlet nor EMI's quarterly performance dependency of the band that has made me turn face. It's because that damn CD is copy protected. It's not the band I hate, it's the fucking label. Watch the video from an older, non-copy protected release (real).

TIGA: Hot In Herre

Tiga gives this cover of Nelly's massive pop hit a bumpin electro twist. Lord of the Marionette provides excellent satire, riffing of the stereotypes of the hip hop video genre with pixelated brand logos, booty stacked dancing girls and glitzy, and over-the-top bling. I think I like this version better than Nelly's original, although they both have to lose that stupid band-aid. Watch the video (qt).

BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE: Almost Crimes

Shadow dancing gets an indie rock makeover. Make out the shapes of this simple video from the Toronto collective- I see Feist, I see Drew.... but who is the pregnant woman? New record is rumoured to be on its way... the upcoming tour signals the impending release. Watch the video (qt).

GREEN DAY: American Idiot

I was very slow to discover this record. But it is damn fine. So I post this video, in penance for my dismissal of the California punksters for their previous crimes. This is truly a great record with solid, insightful lyrics. Watch the video (qt).

ELLEN ALLIEN: Trashscapes

Ellen's got her third record out on her very own Bpitch imprint, but I cannot find a single new video. So here's one from her second long player, Berlinette. Initial reviews of the new album, entitled Thrills, foretell a much harder, less melodic sound. It's German electro- what did you expect? Watch the video. (qt)

CAKE: No Phone

Reality TV seems to strike a cord with Cake, as their most recent batch of clips suggest. This one splices together a bunch of random people dancing to the track with headphones on. Not terribly earth shattering, but novel none the less. Watch the video. (qt)

UNKLE: Reign

James Lavalle commissions pretty great videos. The clip for Reign matches the moody, epic quality of this Ian Brown collaboration. Musically, the track crossed the electronic, indie and brit-pop sets with easy stride. Watch the video. (qt)

LEAVES: The Spell

More goodness from Iceland. Leaves are considered to be Reykjavik's equivalent to Coldplay. Considering how vogue it is to ring the Coldplay backlash, it may not be a flattering comparison. This playful track is the lead of their second long player. Watch the video (real).

ASCII DISKO: Strassen

I work with someone that looks exactly like one of these totaly cheesy, German pornstar aerobics instructors. He doesn't wear the alluring low cut spandex tank tops, nor would he dare those racy side split polyester short shorts. But he's got that super camp 80's moustache. And it really really freaks me out. Ascii Disko is the Hamburg based electro project and this video, loaded with sexy sweaty male aerobo-sirens, will make even the straightest man grow a big, fat... moustache. JET: Roll Over DJ

"Hi, Jet? This is Gwen Stefani. Can I borrow some of your Harajuku girls? Yeah? Sure, I can wait until after you sell your song to Apple. Holla back, kay?" Watch the video (qt).

BRAZILIAN GIRLS: Don't Stop

New York's Brazilian Girls also racked up the Fashion points by headlining at Toronto's 19th annual Fashion Cares. Unfortunately, in this video, lead singer Sabina Sciubba racks up the "what was she thinking" points with that contraption of a dress. Is that my dryer tubing she's wearing? Watch the video (qt).

FEIST: One Evening

Fresh from her performance from the 19th annual Fashion Cares, here is what DJ Monstermo calls "the cheesiest video (he's) seen all year." Has he seen the Dennis Madelone video yet? Probably not. None the less, for those who don't have an appreciation of the concept of Fashion Cares, it is a bacchanal of frou fashion costumery to raise funds for AIDS research. Certainly a worthy cause, and certainly a surreal moment to see Feist perform on a catwalk stage surrounded by nearly naked men dress in horsetail thongs, bridles and blinders. I witnessed this and it has forever changed me. This video guest stars Halifax alt-rap hero, Buck 65. Watch the video (qt).

So maybe this isn't a new video, but is it a damn fine track from one of the most important video artists of the decade. The hypnotic hip-hop-ista has got fresh beats on the way with the impending release of her new long player, The Cookbook. We'll get it posted as soon as we can find it. THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS: The Boxer

LADYTRON: Sugar

Sick. Ladytron have returned from the dead with a new sound, a new label and a new kick ass single. This one is short, sweet and oh-so-goddamn chic. The infusion of guitars makes Ladytron rock. Watch the video (real).

CLINIC: Circle Of Fifths

The always eerie Clinic make music to freak to. Seeing their live show, band members indiscriminate behind surgical masks and scrubs, playing thrashing punk complimented with organ and shriekingly shrill vocals, sends an impersonal tingle down your spine. As much as I love the parade, this album unfortunately seems like ground long ago trodden. Let's face it folks, this well is dry. The live show is a full throttle assault, though...
