K'NAAN: Soobax

2006 POLARIS PRIZE NOMINEE / V FESTIVAL TORONTO The Mogadishu born, Toronto-based MC mixes traditional African rhythms with hip hop raps for one of the most ground breaking fusions between world music and urban. Produced by the Track and Field team that collaborated on the latin/trip-pop/soul style of the first two Nelly Furtado records, all signs point to pop potential if K'Naan can keep up the momentum of this very catchy first single.
