JAY-JAY JOHANSON: Rush

The pallid Swedish trip hop electronica crooner releases the title track to his latest long player. The single is a blend of MOR pop sensibility and adult contemporary schmaltz. Is it edgy and cool? With the reliance on soft focus lenses, ample concealer and hazy lighting tricks, the only thing for certain is the eighties are undead and undying. The only saving grace? Ballerinas and lots of 'em.
