THE POSTAL SERVICE: The District Sleeps Alone Tonight

The Postal Service website blipped back onto the radar screen recently and, granted it was one of the sleeper hits of god knows how many years ago, I could not resist another "The" posting. Where exactly does one file The Postal Service? Electronica? Alternative? And what exactly is a death cab and why is there one for cutie? I need to get some sleep in the district...
